BEWARE of
Baby name blogs
(and the books that utilize them)
Many people enjoy the world of blogs. But if you are an expectant parent searching for a baby name, be cautious.
Blogs are not regulated. Nor are they academic pursuits.
Likewise, baby name books that rely upon blog-style self-reported data are not to be trusted. (At least one very popular baby name book out there relies solely upon self-reported data to determine "suggested sibling names".) Such an unscientific system is not intellectually sound. A few bad apples have the ability to contaminate the entire data pool.
